The COVID-19 pandemic is a significant human tragedy, impacting millions around the world and creating unprecedented business continuity & crisis management issues for organizations large and small.


In this presentation & discussion, athenahealth Director of Global Security and Services Bridger McGaw and Bryghtpath Principal & Chief Executive Bryan Strawser will discuss athenahealth’s preparedness and response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the impact on its teams and business operations, integration and information sharing with public health and emergency management agencies, their future approach to returning to the office, and lessons learned from this crisis.

Bryan Strawser is founder, principal and CEO at Bryghtpath LLC, a strategic advisory firm he founded in 2014. He has more than 25 years of experience in the areas of global risk, business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, intelligence and crisis communications.

At Bryghtpath, Strawser leads a team of experts that offer strategic counsel and support to the world’s leading brands, public sector agencies, and nonprofit organizations to strategically navigate uncertainty and disruption. He holds a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice administration from the University of Phoenix and a masters of business administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He is a graduate of the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative program at Harvard University’s JFK School of Government.

Strawser is currently a postgraduate student in the Department of War Studies at King's College, London and a senior fellow at Auburn University's Center for Cyber and Homeland Security.


BRIDGER MCGAW, CPP, CISSP, CBCP

Mr. McGaw leads the Global Security and Services team at athenahealth, Inc., headquartered in Watertown, MA. In this role, he serves as the corporate security director overseeing safety, security, incident management, business continuity, aviation, and transportation services for the 5400-person, $1.7B revenue cloud-based health IT company. Prior to athenahealth, he served in the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, as well as White House and Capitol Hill. Mr. McGaw’s experience has spanned the public and private sector providing public policy, intelligence analysis, cybersecurity, and strategic communications advice that transformed and matured programs throughout government agencies and critical infrastructure sectors. His expertise as a creative disruptor, adviser, and partnership-builder have opened leaders and organizational cultures to more inclusive and innovative approaches to solving strategic problems. He is a graduate of Harvard University and the Kennedy School of Government. He lives in the Boston area and is a big Star Wars fan.
