Organizational Resilience - It’s Time to Begin Your Resilience Journey
Organizations are facing the increasing challenge of managing change at a rate not seen before, while also experiencing crises that occur more often, last longer, are more complex, and have the potential to significantly impact the organization’s survival. Being able to respond both quickly and effectively to change and uncertainty is a capability required of all organizations. They must learn to adapt in the face of diverse challenges – to build their resilience in an uncertain world.
Organizations that demonstrate resilience capabilities are better able than others to not just manage change, but to take advantage of these changes to create opportunities and drive their competitive advantage.
Many organizations focus their resilience capabilities on being prepared and managing the risk of natural disasters, climate change, supply chain disruptions, IT outages, information and cyber security, and more. While being prepared for the unexpected and managing risk is very important, it is also more narrowly focused on operations. It is essential that organizations begin to understand the importance of a holistic view of organizational resilience that addresses weaknesses by developing strategies to strengthen all aspects of the organization.
Attend this session and learn how to get started on the Road to Resilience Journey. We will begin the journey by understanding what is needed to get started and then consider:
· How will we travel? Determining the focus.
· Who’s in charge? How to be a leader.
· Who’s participating? Why should I be part of the journey?
· Are we having fun yet? How does culture impact the journey?
· Road construction! Managing change.
· I’m tired! Workforce resilience.
· The road we’re on is risky! Reducing risk.
· What have we learned so far? Sharing knowledge and information.
· Are we there yet? Measuring performance.
· Is this where we want to be? Is the workplace flexible, productive, and collaborative?
